Exponent CMS is a free, open source, open standards modular enterprise software framework and content management system (CMS) written in the programming language PHP.
Exponent CMS uses an editing system that allows content to be managed
and edited on the page as it is displayed to a normal site visitor.
There is no back-end administration system on an Exponent CMS powered
site as all the content management is handled through the front-end web
template. The default installation includes a complete set of modules
for managing a typical website. Additional modules are developed by a
community of open source developers and can be installed via a web browser. Exponent CMS can be installed in a Linux, Unix, Mac OS X or Windows environment, or any platform that supports the Apache web server and the PHP language (version 4.0.6+). Exponent CMS requires a database such as MySQL (4.1+) or PostgreSQL (5.0+) to store content and settings.

Contents

Exponent CMS was originally written and designed by James Hunt as a project for OIC Group, Inc, starting in 2001. The core functionality of Exponent CMS is still managed by OIC Group with a community of open source

ABOUT OVERTURE

Overture is the resource website for a web publishing system called Symphony. Here you will find articles and tutorials about using Symphony, as well as a community forum and Symphony wiki.

The forum

is a place for Symphony developers to meet and share knowledge. The
Symphony team are always closeby, so it’s also a great place to go if
you have any questions about Overture or Symphony. Every so often,
we’ll go through the forum and prune old discussions that are no longer
relevant in order to keep the place tidy and easy to search through.

The wiki
is a growing collection of information and documentation to help you
get to know Symphony. If you’re new to Symphony, or if you’d like some
more detailled information on how Symphony works, this is where you
should start. If you want to contribute your own slice of Symphony
knowledge to the wiki, you’re more than welcome.
